How To Master The Retirement Home Guardian Raid
On May 19 the first Tier 6 Guardian will arrive. Its name is Deskaluda and you can access the Guardian Raid with item level 1415 or above. In Korea, it’s called the Retirement Home. It is a fast and easy Guardian Raid and a lot of characters will do Deskaluda forever.
That’s a good reason to get really familiar with his patterns. In this guide, you’ll find the 5 most important mechanics.
#1 Whirlwind With Player Lasers
Two players are emitting green lines in 4 directions (the players are marked by yellow circles in the screenshots). These two players need to create some space between them and then stop moving as soon as possible. The other two players should then position themselves without touching the lines.

Now wait for the lines to disappear. The area is surrounded by a green whirlwind effect to prevent players from running away.
#2 Armor Break & Destruction
Deskaluda roars, gets a shield on his chest, and you hear the armor sound. This means that Deskaluda gave itself armor. Break the armor with Destruction Skills and/or Destruction Bombs. Normally, doing your normal rotation should be enough to break the shield eventually.
If you succeed you get some healing, a crit buff, and a free window for huge damage while Deskaulda is knocked out.
#3 Flying Illusions (Counter This!)
Deskaluda will offer a lot of opportunities to counter and countering will make the fight a lot easier and faster. One mechanic is especially important to counter:

For this to work, you need to succeed on the armor break mechanic before. If Deskaluda is still armored you can’t counter him and he leaves the area.
#4 Stunning Shards
Deskaluda will spawn shards (yellow circle in the screenshot) that aim at players with green lines.

#5 Portals & Safe Zones
Deskaluda will spawn a few green portals and one blue portal. After a short while the green portals will blast green energy that damages players. Stand at the blue portal to avoid getting hit.

#6 Other Mechanics
Deskaluda has a few more smaller mechanics. A lot of them are the typical mechanics other birds have too: picking, rising up and dashing down, etc. Deskaluda also creates obvious zones you should avoid.
Nothing special there. I’d recommend to check the video guides to see all mechanics once and then just learn them by doing Deskaluda over and over again over for the next months. 🙂
