A warmer trend to end the week ahead of more rain

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - More beautiful weather conditions are on tap for your Valentine’s Day but unfortunately things quickly change the closer we get to the weekend.

It’s a cold start this morning as we’re waking up to the 30s and 40s across the area. That cold start will give way to a beautiful afternoon as highs climb into the lower to middle 60s. Abundant sunshine is expected in today’s forecast.

The trend all February has been to rain on the weekends and this upcoming weekend looks to be no different. A slight warming trend will round out the week before rain arrives on Friday. That rain is likely to linger into Saturday which will go along with a big drop in temperatures. That strong cold front will put an end to the rain but also send our temperatures tumbling Saturday afternoon.

I would expect a light freeze across our inland spots come Monday morning considering the colder air mass that looks to be on the way.
